Approximately 800 years ago, the Wupatki National Monument was once a prosperous communities in the area. Remains of stone dwellings and artifacts of the people who resided on this section of the Colorado Plateau can still be seen today. Numerous trails are available to take visitors on self-guided tours of the pueblos, including the largest of the dwelling the Wupatki Pueblo.
